Marie Moreshead
In very short time, Marie Moreshead has established herself as one of the top up-and-coming artists in Portland local music. She has performed in some of Maine's best-loved venues including the Waterville Opera House, Alamo Theater, North Star Music Cafe, One Longfellow Square and Railroad Square Cinema, and has shared the stage with well-known acts like Rustic Overtones, Mark Erelli, Pete Kilpatrick and Rachel Griffin. She released her debut, The Distraction E.P. on Roadside Manna Records in May, 2008.
"Marie has a knack for vocal styling and melody, two of my favorite components of acoustic music. I can't wait to hear more from her."
- Bob McKillop, mainefolkmusic.com
"Portland has been a bit in need of a new ingenue, and Marie Moreshead is built for the part."
- Sam Pfeifle, The Portland Phoenix
"While “The Distraction E.P.” may not be a life-changing disc, it is certainly aural comfort food, the equivalent to slipping on comfy pajamas before bed. It will certainly make you smile, whether it’s your first listen or 100th."
- William Earl, The Maine Switch Magazine
